Helen Fong is an Associate Attorney with Goyette and Associates specializing in criminal defense, labor defense, and professional license defense. She has extensive experience defending her clients in criminal and administrative proceedings. She represents law enforcement officers, RNs, firefighters, EMTs and various other public employees in both labor and criminal matters.
Helen graduated from McGeorge School of Law in 2006 and has been practicing law for over 10 years. Prior to joining Goyette and Associates, Helen worked at a criminal defense firm for 8 years where she handled hundreds of cases. Her cases ranged from misdemeanor to serious felony matters. As an effective negotiator, Helen gained numerous successful results including dismissals, reductions of felonies to misdemeanors, and diversion to avoid conviction. Helen is also not afraid to fight for her clients when needed and has completed 50 jury trials and countless contested hearings. She has gained a number of acquittals and hung juries, including acquittals on two Three-Strikes cases, saving her clients from getting life imprisonment.
Helen also specializes in defending DUI cases and spent over four years working on a DUI defense team. Having experience and knowledge specific to DUIs helped her gain many favorable results. She has gained a significant number of dismissals, reduced charges, and acquittals in her DUI cases. Notably, she effectively argued for the reduction of a felony DUI causing injury case to a misdemeanor, helping the client retain her vet tech license.
Outside of work, Helen is an avid runner and has run numerous marathons and ultramarathons. In both her personal and professional life, Helen is a dedicated and determined individual. That, along with her extensive trial experience, makes her an effective advocate for her clients.
